Tim Bovaconti grew up on ( Toronto’s) Ward’s Island where he played his first gig at the age of 14.Since then Tim has fronted a few bands (The Love Cows,Pop Vultures) and developed a reputation as a talented multi-instumentalist, performing, touring and recording with the likes of Ron Sexsmith,Burton Cummings,The Kelele Brothers,Leonard Cohen, Kim Stockwood, The Sattalites, Jason Wilson,Fergus Hambleton,Dave Swarbrick (Fairport Convention),Dick Gaughan,Strato-Chief, The Supers, Andrea Koziol, Shonen Knife, Jerry Lee Lewis, Lost Dakotas, Bob Egan (Blue Rodeo), Andy Kim (“Sugar,Sugar”), Mad Violet,Sean Cullen,Revival Dear,The Nines,Kim Jarrett,C. Kenn,Robbie Roth,Julian Taylor,Ben Spivak,David Hein (My Mother’s Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding) and many others. He is also in demand as a producer having helped out Toronto songwriting talent Jerry Leger and his band the Situation on their past 3 albums as well as working with James Mckie on his upcoming release.
Tim is currently guitarist with Canadian rockers Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman (as a member of Bachman-Cummings as well as lead guitarist in Burton Cummings’ band) and recently recorded lead guitars/lap steel in Los Angeles with Burton for his album release “Above the Ground”.Tim recently toured Europe with Ron Sexsmith and has been playing shows (including the Barenaked Ladies’ Ships and Dip cruiseship) with comic Sean Cullen. Tim has a self-titled new album coming out in 2010!!!! In late 2004 “Bover-Not Live at Budokan”,Tim’s first solo album was independently released. As a session player Tim is adept on guitar, mandolin,lap and pedal steel,vocals and bass guitar and records tracks for many artists in his Mountalan Sound studio.
